At IA we have a traditional house system in place which creates a real sense of community as well as a healthy dose of competition! Students and staff members are allocated a House (Red, Blue, Yellow, Green) upon entering the school, with siblings and family members placed in the same Houses.
House Points can be earned on a daily basis for excellent work, positive behaviour, involvement in the school community and good citizenship to name just a few. House Points are tallied up at the end of each week, and the announcement of House of the Month is announced in Assembly.
At both Primary and Secondary levels, we have House Captains who are responsible for rallying their houses and planning house events. Sports Day is an exciting inter-House competition, with everyone competing for the House Cup, even the teachers!
Blue Shell Awards
Our Blue shells are awarded when a student has shown behaviour that exemplifies the values of our school. This could be showing kindness, exceptional academic effort or community minded behaviour. Once a Blue Shell has been awarded, the students name is displayed on our Blue Shell Board and their name appears in our weekly parents newsletter.
