The Visual Arts programme at Island Academy is unique within Antigua and a very popular part of the school curriculum. From the very start in Kinder, students receive dedicated art lessons and are exposed to and inspired by the work of different artists from around the world. As they progress through Primary, students are instructed in different mediums, learn about the use of colour and texture and have time within the ceramics studio creating beautiful pieces which they can take home.
Within Secondary, Art is a compulsory subject and part of the curriculum for Grades 7-9 while it is an optional choice in Grades 10 and 11.
Island Academy runs an annual Art Exhibition for parents and donors to view the work which is a fantastic opportunity for every child to display their hard work and for parents to see the progress made.
