At the primary level, our academic programme draws on aspects of the British, North American and Caribbean curricula. As a very Internationally minded school, our curriculum and standards reflect this focus and students who study here are well equipped to transfer anywhere else in the world.
Children are placed in grades and are taught the core subject areas: Language Arts (English), Math, Social Studies and Science by their Grade Teacher. Specialist teachers teach Music, Art, Spanish and PE. All primary classes have lessons at selected points in the year in our bespoke Art Room and Ceramic Studio.
Throughout all subjects we encourage students to investigate ideas and concepts through problem solving and independent thinking. Students work both individually and in groups to learn social and collaboration skills and they are encouraged to present their work in front of each other to learn presentation skills and gain confidence.
National Assessments are sat in Grades 2, 4 and 6 and school exams are sat in all other years. These exams are used as a means to help the students develop and improve and are viewed in combination with their classwork and participation.
Weekly class update emails are sent to each parent covering the curriculum, homework and any general updates and reminders. Progress is reported 6 times a year through 3 midterm reports and 3 full term reports. At the end of each term a full report card is completed detailing progress in each area of each subject alongside more personal skills and behaviour.
